Any reason my refund is so high???

I started filing my taxes on 01/14 and it turned out that my employer had never paid the IRS and stated that I owed $1,745. So I just filled out the rest of my taxes until I got to the review stage & I got pissed and just left it alone. I come back to it a month later just to finish this bs and I log in to see I came from owing almost 2k to getting basically 16k back. Mind you, I didn't touch a thing... all I hit was submit. Is there any reason why this could happen??
