Melting plastic trim :(

Posted this in r/Camry first, but on a broader scale, has anyone experienced plastic melt on your Toyota/Lexus at this severity? This is my 2019 Camry LE, primarily parked on the driveway, or my campus parking lot. I’ve already found what I believe the culprit is, a beam of light or heat shining from one house, to another, and then strongly down to my driveway, exactly the side my car used to park (I’ve now moved it to the other side and parked another car to block it). On our old 2015 Camry LE, the trim did not melt, nor had any other vehicle me or my family had owned, even our minivan which sat in that spot for more than 18+ years. Pictured is the driver side b-pillar and rear door corner trim, along with the driver and passenger side mirrors. Both sides of the vehicle are getting affected the same. Luckily for me, after a tedious claim process with Toyota, they are covering 80% of the almost $2000 bill, even though I think they should be paying all of it. I’m going to take some precautionary measures and get glossy covers once they are replaced, along with chrome or paint matched mirror covers, as I theorize they will help reflect the light off instead of absorbing but I think it’s crazy to see that for the prices these cars sell, stuff like this shouldn’t happen.
