Tokyo vs Amsterdam

Hello,

I'm American resident and I'm currenly planning to travel Tokyo or Amsterdam, unsure which one would be better.

I've been to Amsterdam countless times, but never to Japan.

I currently have around 2.5k usd budget, 1500 will be flight+hotel to japan and 1300 for Amsterdam. So if I go japan, I will have 1000 dolars and in Amsterdam 1200. I'm very nervous because I never been to Asia before and I'm kinda scared of culture shock I will experience.

I'm planning to do 5 days trip, in Amsterdam I usually smoke marijuana or take truffles for entertainment and has everything tbh. Japan another hand, it seems too busy and scary for me. Distance is also big problem, Flight from NY to Amsterdam takes around 8 hours while japan I need to layover which requires me to layover in Vancouver for a night and take a next morning flight to Tokyo (37 hrs in total)

Can you please share me your ideas about this travel, which one should I go with?
