Bigotry in US Season 2 Episode 2
Wow. I just finished this episode and I am completely floored. The shock and utter disbelief from Trishelle when Peppermint was voted as the most popular castmate. Her bringing up the fashion incident during breakfast and TWO OTHER TIMES in groups of 5-6, then lying about it only being "two people". The smile she had on her face the entire time. Deontay crying afterwards as he felt the implications. Only to find out this woman has a history of racist behavior... why was she let on the show??
I mean, "this lock is broken"?? "That was a trick question, aint no way"? What the actual f***?
Don't get me wrong, Peppermint did a bad job defending herself under the pressure (verbal slip), but in 2023 it is deeply disturbing how easy it was for this cast to pile on the black transwoman as the first person banished.
