Is an avatar most often an avatar of the fear they fear the most, or the one they like the most?

In my case the fear is the same one. I fucking hate spiders, but am a pathological liar and am told frequently I manipulate people without realising it. So I'm the Web either way. But for most people is it the one you fear the most or the one you like the most?
