After watching episode 6 and the start of episode 7, I'm done. This is just a quick, not at all comprehensive rant because I want to spew this bile somewhere before moving on.
The whole situation with the extra time getting added was incredibly stupid. It doesn't matter who the culprit is, any of them could have thought of using the phone in the common area to spend the time they've got left.
It also doesn't matter if the viewers would add more time to offset this, because first of all they don't know that beforehand so might as well try, and second of all they could just keep buying relentlessly until the viewers don't feel like burning more money on something that is pointlessly boring for them (I'm assuming extra time costs them money like streaming donations would, otherwise this is even more stupid).
And if somehow nothing worked, they could just, you know, kill one of the three pieces of shit that gleefully enslaved and tortured them for weeks and get the thing over with for certain, as per the rules.
Which brings me to my next point of contempt - I fucking hate spineless, overly 'virtuous' protagonist groups who must always remain on their impossibly high horses, no matter how reckless and counter-intuitive, until inevitably everything falls apart around them.
This is supposed to be a show about humans and yet I'm presented with unrelatable saintly caricatures without a smidgen of mental balance. I almost quit right there and then when they went and asked Floor 8 if they could bloody spend a tiny fraction of her ever-growing fortune - in retrospect, I should have.
And if not there, I should have done it when Floor 5 went "they're all good people and just did what they did because of The Circumstances™, boo fucking hoo" and Floor 2 didn't even reject that absolutely insane take nor consider her a risk, despite keeping everyone else locked in their rooms. I despise Floor 5, and even more so I despise the fact I can't bring myself to like Floor 2 (my favorite) anymore after this section of the show.
What a waste of a concept and what a waste of my time.
