No healthcare CEO deserves to die

I’m genuinely surprised by how many people are praising Luigi for killing that CEO, and how many others are saying they wish the same would happen to others.

From my understanding, UnitedHealth operates on around a 6% profit margin, which isn’t particularly large for any business. Of course, the CEOs make a lot of money, but I don’t fully understand the “eat the rich” movement. From what I’ve read, hospitals often bill insurers with outrageous sums, almost expecting those charges to be disputed because they know the amounts are inflated. It seems like hospitals are the main “engines” driving up the cost of medical procedures since nowhere else in the world are prices as high as in the U.S. The whole system is messed up, but the blame doesn’t necessarily lie with insurance companies or their CEOs specifically.

I imagine the CEO who was killed probably just took the job like anyone else would—to provide for his wife and two sons.

It’s also interesting how many people criticize the rich, yet at the same time laugh about how they’d sell their morals for a $250k salary at Lockheed Martin.

I’m curious to hear your perspectives on this. How wrong am I in seeing things this way from outside the U.S.?
