Riverside or Sukhumvit ( Asok )

I had posted here before and have two hotels booked but trying to decide between them.

Hi! We are planning a trip to Bangkok in September with a 2 and a half year toddler for 5 nights. I have been to Bangkok twice before - once by my self and once with my wife and both times I stayed near chong-non-si. However, this time its different as we are travelling with our daughter.
After looking at a few recommendations on what to do with toddlers - it seems like staying at a hotel near a mall would be ideal - as malls have food courts ( We want to have all the street food we can but walking and eating with a toddler is tough - so our next best options seems to be mall food courts) and play areas for kids. We also want to visit old bangkok and the temples.

I found that the asok area may be convenient (terminal 21 + asok BTS + Sukhumvit subway) and have a booking at Jasmine City ( Bigger rooms with a small kitchen which may come handy with a toddler and cheaper compared to other hotels in the area.)

The other option I have is Chatrium Riverside (A bit more expensive than the first option ) But being by the river could be nice -plus it has shuttle ferry to the train station and Icon Siam. The thing I am not so sure of is if there are any good street food in the area? Also, if we wanted to grab dinner - are there places nearby to just walk and grab something to eat? Even a short taxi ride could work.. The main positives here is the scenic location by the river and probably easier to get to the historic sites.

Please help me choose :)
