Bringing back Heihachi in canon story was a mistake?

Personally I think they fcked Tekken story by doing this... Not that they care anyways, but I think this made Tekken 7 irrelevant, that game had the nonchalant feel of 'You are not seeing this old man anymore' etc and it was pretty cool.

Reina was supposed to be the one to continue the Mishima's shenanigans, and she is a cool character with potential, but now with Heihachi back, will she become another wasted potential? The only thing going for her now is that she have the Devil gene awakened.

And Reina seems to have an 'admiration' for her father, but she doesn't know he is alive? Heihachi should be hating her since she has the Devil gene right? Like, this is the whole point that he threw Kazuya into the Canyon in the first place when he was a kid, or I'm missing something here?

Why not bring Heihachi just as a playable DLC character but keep him dead in Canon Story?

Or at least, they could have kept Monk Heihachi with amnesia for entire game, it was pretty cool and refreshing, and then, the 'Old Heihachi' coming back on the final of Tekken 9 by betraying Reina would be way more impactful in my opinion.

Or Reina being more cunning and betraying Heihachi before he could do that (although, very very unlikely)

I don't known, everything feels weird now lmao.
