Why teenagers think it's cool?
Yesterday, I was going to drop my brother off at the CBSE examination center. I was sitting in the park when I saw a group of students from Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya (Delhi government school). They were waiting for their board exams, just like us. One of them had brought his younger sister, who was hardly 12 years old. After a few minutes, two of his friends started using abusive language (you know the kind of words I'm talking about) about the third friend's sister. After a while, the disgusting conversation escalated into a fight, and those friends literally kicked the one who was being bullied. And literally kissed his sister, and litreally started shouting in park like " (his name) ki behen ki chummki leli " to make sure everyone around him heard it. He repeated the line 2-3 times, just to be sure his classmates were listening.
I thought this was enough, so I tried to make them stop. Yes, I should have acted sooner, but you know how it is – sometimes when something like this happens right in front of you, it’s hard to process what to do immediately. I had to send my brother inside the center within 10 minutes, so I didn’t say anything at first. However, when it went too far, I shouted, "Yeh tumhare ghar ke sanskar hain?" (Are these the values from your home?). They paused for a moment, then left the park.
I'm also a 19-year-old teenager and a ex- student from a Delhi government school. I've seen many of my classmates using these disgusting words, and I don't understand why they think these kinds of things are "cool" or "humorous" or whatever.
Can we stop normalizing these abusive words? i mean some of new teenagers think being abusive is cool and sayin these kind of words publicly and acted like this?? IDK but i consider this as promoting r***pe culture
