The most shocking revelation last episode.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I was extremely surprised to hear Christine had to work nights back in Lehi. She had to homeschool and care for a dozen kids all day long and then go out and work? As far as I know we have never heard this before. In the early seasons they expressly said the opposite: Christine kept the home while the others worked.
Which brings me to Meri and her part-time work at the time. I'd love to hear your perspectives, but Meri getting to cut back her hours and go to school while Christine took on the burdens of home and a job strikes me as monstrously unfair. Going to school can be a financial decision. It was for my husband and I. I went back to college to hopefully make more money in the future. A little pain now for benefits tomorrow. I didn't get the impression that this was the case with Meri, though. To me it seemed more like school was a path to self-fufillment in Meri's life and career, which is great, but not if it's causing someone else such hardship. That's just my view. I'd love to hear yours.
