Tinder should embrace what it is and stop forcing away users.

Lots of news about the direction Tinder (as well as Hinge) is going recently after the number of paid subscribers decrease and revenue growth has been poor. The apps all say their strategy is to focus on the user experience and to try and retain female and younger users. They are putting a lot of weight on their face verification systems. That means driving away more blocked users like people on this sub. That is mostly going to be males and males are much more likely to pay (estimated that 96% of paying users are male).

So tinder is creating an even more female space and making it harder and harder for the users who pay for service to use their app and benefit from it.

My opinion is they need to embrace what they are. A hook up app. Everyone knows it. Instead of using it to their advantage they keep fighting it trying to become Christian Mingle. Think about who is going to pay for Tinder ( I have), it is a dude, who is looking for something casual. Likely looking for serial or multiple hookups or light dating. Instead we are banned, shadow banned and ignored by the algorithm.

Of course they will never do this. And they will slowly decay and continue to lose income.

Preaching to the choir, I know. But I needed to rant after reading this article.
