I genuinely cannot get this clicker out. Send help

I've been trying the method where you put two pieces of string through and pull at the hinge. But I can only see one of the 2 lines of where the hinge is so idk if I'm pulling the right end. I'm stuck and starting to feel claustrophobic. I had a tattoo appointment scheduled for today and I was going to ask their piercer to take it out. But I had to cancel the appointment bc my bf's car broke down and I couldn't figure out the bus routes and where I need to get on and off. Anyone have tips?
