What Stellaris Tech Would You Want In Real Life?

Which tech would you want to have complete scientific understanding of?( knowledge of use, how to build) This may mean you know how to build the tools to build the tools to build thing.(so good luck actually building the thing in your lifetime) Personally I would want to know how to build working shields ,as that would have an application in practically every industry!
