Steam Deck Effect is real, started with 1 game and now 150
Steam Deck changed my way to consume videogames. I'm using consoles and PC since a child but I started to be the owner of my consoles not too much time ago...
Here’s my gaming journey:
- 2018 Low end PC, playing "non-steam" games but also Payday 2.
- 2019 Bought my first PS4.
- 2020 Upgrade to a PS4 Pro.
- 2020 Bought Xbox One X and lately sold my PS4.
- 2020 Bought Nintendo Switch.
- 2021 Updated to Series X.
- 2021 Bought PS5 to have keep both consoles.
- 2023 Bought my first Steam Deck LCD and lately sold my Nintendo Switch, I only had 1 game in Steam and was Pay Day 2.
- 2024 Bought Steam Deck OLED Limited Edition.
Games owned:
- PlayStation: 2
- Xbox: 10
- Steam: 150
Having these consoles doesnt mean I was playing games full-time, I was using mainly games subscriptions and just playing basically AAA games that I was interested in and rarely bought games cause I was actually not interested (I can't say why, honestly)
For example, I bought a year of PS Premium Subscription for like 130 USD and but I never renewed it, worst purchase ever. On Xbox side I was using gamepass mainly but that's not a reason to not buy games cause I'm still paying it and buying games in Steam anyways.
Why I buy lot of games for Steam?
- Is way amazing play things on portable with so nice graphics
- Hardware is great and comfy
- Games are chepear than consoles
- Discovered so many indies games in Twitter (X)
- Sales are way better
- I have the freedom to test games and if I don't like it I can refund it and the list can continue
- I can play whatever I want
- If I want more performance I can just play in Geforce Now
is crazy the "Steam Deck Effect", I bought games in Steam that I already had in PS/Xbox haha
Edit: Forgot to say that I'm not longer using Xbox and PS5 since months ago, I wanted to sell it but is too cheaper outside and I bought it way expensive so I prefer keep them for my future kids or something haha
