Remote Play - PC Lockscreen Workarounds
For those of you that are not aware, remote play requires that the PC be unlocked to play. This can be a real pain if your system can't sit around powered on and unlocked 24/7.
The most common workaround is to use Wake-on-LAN to boot the machine and some remote control software to enter your password after the system has booted. This often makes remote play a lot of work to set up and use.
Today I randomly decided to try and stream a game from my Galaxy Z Fold 3. Since I hadn't tried this before, I decided to try and launch the game knowing that the PC was locked, and to my delight I found that after launching the stream I was able to use the Steam Remote Play app's pop up keyboard to enter my password! I was elated to say the least.
Unfortunately I can't get this to work with my SD. Using the Steam+X shortcut to launch the on screen keyboard doesn't work, regardless of the game I'm trying to stream. This single limitation is a huge impediment to remote play with SD.
