Spironolactone reaction
I was on spironolactone for 2 years to treat my hormonal acne and it cleared all of my acne and scars. About a year ago, I stopped to see if there was still a need for me to take it and for a few months my skin stayed clear. However, my acne came back, so I decided to restart spironolactone a month ago. Since then, l've experienced severe itching, especially on my hands, wrists, thighs, and neck. I would even wake up in the middle of the night without realizing I was scratching my hands in my sleep. At first I didn't think it was the spironolactone, but after researching, I found it's a side effect and I had developed an allergic reaction. I stopped taking it and my itching went away. I'm frustrated because nothing else has worked for my acne, and I'm not sure what to do anymore. Has anyone else experienced this?
