First attempt, tell me how to improve!
This was my first attempt at making sourdough. I think it came out good for my first try but could use some tips on how to improve!
Ingredients: 140g starter 280g water 420g flour 10g salt
After combining the ingredients I did 4 sets of stretch and folds and then put it in the oven with the light on for 5 hours to bulk ferment. After the bulk ferment, I shaped it and put in the fridge to cold proof overnight. I noticed it didn’t really rise too much in the fridge so I left it at room temp for an hour before baking.
I baked it in my dutch oven at 450 degrees for 20 minutes with the top on and then 25 minutes uncovered and let it rest for about an hour and a half before slicing it open.
Overall I’m happy with it but was disappointed that it’s not as airy as I think the inside of it should be. Appreciate any feedback or tips and tricks! Thanks 😊
