Is Sonic Origins Plus a good starting point?

So I have been meaning to get into the sonic Fandom for a while now, but I am more of a Super Mario fan so I don’t really know a lot of the lore. I’m now planning to watch the Sonic movies and Sonic 3 tomorrow and the only other Sonic media I really consumed was of Sonic Prime ( season one ) and the color game on the DS

But If I wanna get into the video games side of things more, Is Sonic Origins Plus on the switch good?
