GMT 900 limited slip universality?

I’m looking to buy a gmt 900 without a limited slip differential and i’m wondering if i go to a junkyard and find a pickup or suburban/tahoe with a limited slip differential. Will an LSD diff work as a direct replacement for a regular one while still having LSD functions?
