Severance has never been a fast-paced show

There has been a flood of naysayers on this subreddit recently complaining about the pace of the show and asking why their questions aren't being answered and I'm truly puzzled. Before I say anything else, lemme just say, THESE PEOPLE ARE THE MINORITY, but a very loud one.

People claim that season 2 is so different, YET, it was common for people to say "just give it a few episodes" or "it's a slowburn" or "it takes a while to build up" for new people watching season 1.

Severance has always been a mystery thriller with a slow build. The first few episodes of season 1 are slow and world-building, but the difference is, it takes place mostly in the office. There's a bigger world now in season 2, and people are complaining because there are more things happening and I guess they hate that it's more things to keep track of?

But Severance has always been a slow-build show. Always been focused on mystery. Always required the audience to ask questions. Just because the show is asking more questions and building a bigger world than you're used to doesn't mean it's now bad. Your memory of season 1 is episode 9, and you're judging season 2 based on hindsight, when the season isn't even done yet!

You'd think this is the vast majority of people based on this subreddit, yet, audience ratings for episodes this season are higher than in season 1. To the naysayers, you are the minority. Wait until episode 10 to see if your criticisms were worth it.

EDIT: Reading some comments, I think people thought this was The Office, but more serious and with a small twist. I think this is why people are so upset about this season and you know, if you thought this was that, just stop watching the show. It was always a mystery show, a Twilight Zone kind of show, and the office was just a plot device.
