Why does everyone think Cobel ___________?

Virtually every post since s2e8 has focused around the statement "I don't find it believable that Devon called Cobel, she stole Devon's baby!!!" In context, what they're really saying is "I refuse to sympathize with Cobel, she stole Devon's baby." For one, that's actually the sign of a good show, that there's actually some complexity to characters and they're not comic book villains.

But also: Cobel did not steal Devon's baby. there was a very, very brief moment where Devon thought Cobel might have stolen the baby because she was confronted with the shocking information that Cobel was spying for Lumon. But that's not what happened. Devon handed her baby to Cobel, and then Cobel found a safe place to put the baby before leaving.

From Devon's perspective, Ms. Selvig has only ever been wonderful and helpful. That's why Devon trusted Ms. Selvig in the first place. At this point, both iMark and oMark have a positive view of Cobelvig, and even iMark forgot to even mention it because it didn't seem like something to worry about. After finding out, the first thing oMark did was stop Cobelvig and ask her about Gemma.

But also, looking at it from Cobel's perspective, she was also hit with insanely upsetting news that the OTC had just been triggered. At the same time, she had just lost her Cobel job and her identity as Ms. Selvig might be all she had left. Devon just handed her the baby without warning just as Cobel was freaking out, and she stayed calm and found a place to put the baby before fleeing to deal with her own emergency. Closing the door to the room the baby was in was not ideal but could easily be explained a number of ways.
