Strelitzia root issue
So this is an S. Nicolai I bought as a mini-plant last summer and transitioned to LECA right away without issues. Over the year the plant has grown nicely, until about 2 weeks ago where I noticed a black spot forming and getting progressively worse on one of the newer leaves.
Inspecting the roots, I'm not entirely sure how to make sense of it. The "main roots" seem okay while the finer small roots are all completely dead - and not in the mushy rotten kind of way, they're brittle and black, and simply break off from a touch. First thought was that they must've simply dried out, but this has happened to even the ones sitting under the 1/3 waterline of the reservoir, which seems odd.
Any thoughts on what has happened here would be greatly appreciated. Even more so, advice on how to go about restoring the plant. TIA
