Schengen Visa Italy

Has anyone being ever contacted by Italian consulate to provide more information after the Schengen Visa appointment? Had my appointment yesterday, I filled out a wrong application and was told that works for all other Schengen countries except for Italy. The agent gave me a hard copy and had to submit handwritten, got home and realised I forgot to put my occupation and that agent didn’t even check that. They have my employment letter which identifies my job though and £35 for passport delivery is ridiculous as well.
