Where to move

Hi all! Looking for some local advice that I can't get through Zillow or other means. Were moving to the area in April and want to know what areas should we focus on and what to avoid.

We're mid 30's, one toddler that will start pre-K and a 4mo baby. Budget is $4k. We have no clue about schools or "bad" areas to avoid. Any advice will be great!

Work is in North San Jose.
