Student Job

Hi there! I'm looking to get a remote student job and I was generally told they pay $12 per hour, but pretty soon my state's minimum wage will be higher than that. I'm just curious if that would be a reason why they wouldn't hire me or would they pay my state's minimum wage?

I'm mostly interested in the job because it would be related to what I want to do after I graduate, so it seems like it would be really good for me to do.
