HELP. MY STUDENT'S DAD WANTS TO FIGHT ME

I THINK I’M ABOUT TO DIE.

so i’ve been tutoring this sec 4 kid for about a month now—just pure math grind, no nonsense. the guy’s chill, kinda blur, but he does his work and doesn’t give me problems. all good, right? WRONG.

today’s session started off normal. we were just going through some amath differentiation questions when his dad suddenly barged in. this uncle is HUGE. like ex-military, still-hits-the-gym-every-day huge. i was about to greet him when he just STARES at me and goes,

“so… you think you’re very smart ah?”

bro. what kind of question is that?? i blinked. “uh, no uncle, i just—”

“you JC one right?”

“…yes?”

“then why my son still fail his test?”

I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO SAY. LIKE SORRY UNCLE, YOUR SON DIDN’T DIFFERENTIATE PROPERLY, PLEASE DON’T DIFFERENTIATE ME FROM MY LIFE.

the uncle just kept staring at me, arms crossed, while his son was sweating bullets next to me. at this point, i was about to say my last prayers when suddenly, he pulls out a freaking math textbook.

“then you teach me. if you can teach me, i trust you can teach my son.”

BRO WHAT.

i thought he was joking. he was not joking. man straight up SAT DOWN and made me teach him differentiation on the spot. i had no choice but to explain like my life depended on it.

i don’t know if it was the adrenaline, but i somehow gave the best lesson of my life. the uncle actually nodded. i thought i was safe. then he hit me with:

“next week, integration.”

and just walked off.

guys. i am now tutoring both father and son. i did not sign up for this. help.
