Theft at McCarren Park

Had my credit cards stolen in an odd fashion at McCarren. Obviously I own up to being an idiot and leaving my wallet in my bike bag (top tube bag) but I locked it outside of the basketball courts alongside the bench that I would stop by every lap to get a sip of water and I was watching it while I was running. I legit thought I was being over paranoid that someone would go to my bike and open the bag and take stuff.

I finish my workout and go to my bike and everything is still there and then get a text from my credit card company that a $3300 charge was made at the Apple Store. Called them immediately and locked the card and they reimbursed me for the fraud. I’m just shocked I didn’t see these people unless they were watching me and exclusively went when I had my back turned to it. All within maybe 45min.

TLDR: they left my wallet and only stole 2 credit cards leaving my debit card and ID. They dipped quickly and went to Apple and bought shit.

DONT BE ME AND LEAVE YOUR SHIT AROUND. Legit have been a runner for 8 years and always just take my ID and credit card separately and this one time I slipped
