RAF Medical

Good evening all, I understand I am by no means in a position of any authority within the Royal Air Force or this subreddit in itself, however I have just done my medical and wanted to share some pointers.

They are MORE THAN LIKELY going to pick up on things that you do not know about whatsoever, so be prepared when going into it that you may not pass first time.

Pay attention on the hearing test, it is very easy to become distracted, bored or otherwise lose concentration so be alert. I got bored midway through and it lead to me being declared TMU due to asymmetrical hearing.

A VERY helpful tip that I read regarding the hearing test is that if you close your eyes and open your mouth it allows you to focus easier and not hear your pulse while trying to hear the faint noises

DONT become disheartened if your declared Temporarily medically unfit, it's not the end of the road and it's a case of capita and the RAF being thorough.

I also want to make this a space where people can ask questions they may have instead of making a whole post for one question.

Be on your toes, expect the unexpected. :)
