Where exactly does Citra install .cia files?

Okay, so I'm in a bit of a storage drought on my laptop at the moment, and I'm looking to delete some of the more beefy files on my hard drive. I recall having Citra and wanting the full experience of the 3ds, home menu and installed cias and all. I also remember deleting cia files after installing them and still being able to play the games. Where exactly are they kept? I've already tried uninstalling citra as a whole.
