Hard time adjusting to RC

I've been playing choices since 2018 and have completed about 1300 chapters. Unfortunately their writing has gone downhill overall and I've been wanting to give RC a shot.

I'm having a hard time adjusting to the first person perspective and the writing feels clunky. Idk if I'm seeing it through Choices glasses and not giving it a fair try. I really want to like it but I'm not sure. Did anyone else have to adjust?
