Safe basking platform materials?

So the old basking platform in my turtle's tank recently broke, (she's a big girl, no judgement here) and I decided to get her one of those made with PVC pipes and egg crates.

My husband said he could get his maintenance guy at work to make it for him (I assumed they had the materials) and the maintenance guy was also excited to make one for his turtle as well.

Anyways, he comes home with the new platform and it's not made of PVC pipes and egg crates, but it's made of metal, the ones some fridges have, and a support made of another kind of thicker metal.

I did place it on her tank so she can bask and seems to be enjoying it so far, but I'm worried that it might not be an appropriate material for a turtle tank and I don't want there to be any issues, especially health issues for her.

Is it safe or should I look for other options?
