Beckman PSA

Many people have found that the back of the eyelets/speed hooks of their Beckman's are eating away at the tongue, and even for me frayed the shoelaces. I have found a solution to this problem. I talked to a cobbler and he told me that the eyelets are correctly installed, and couldn't be synched down any further. This made me think that it's just the sharp nature of the back of these particular eyelets and the delicate nature of the leather used for these boots. I used a file and some sandpaper very gently just to take the sharp edges off and now I don't have this problem anymore. It's not a difficult thing to do, but use your discretion when sanding your expensive shoes.
