Viewing deceased bunny in cold storage

I had to put my darling Shadow to sleep yesterday. I spent a while with her before she passed but last night I was kept awake feeling that I didn’t spend enough time with her after she passed. This morning I went back to the vet to ask if I could see her one last time. She said it could be arranged but advised against it for my sake, since she wouldn’t look like herself and would feel different due to being cold. I took her recommendation and left Shadow in peace.

Did I do the right thing? Has anybody been in this situation? If so, are you glad you did or did not have a last visit?
