My first GENUINE emulator hand held

I'm looking to get a handheld emulator, reason I put so much emphasis on genuine is because for Christmas my gf got me an R36S but it was a clone :/ and she had no idea. I'm looking at getting the SP because of nostalgia, is there anything I should know before purchasing? Is transparent better than silver/retro grey? Where should I buy it from?
