R6 Coaches Tierlist
Inspired by the atrocities that Arcanic talks about daily, I also wanted to give my opinion about something, so I decided to try to make my own tierlist about something that they don't talk about so much around here, the main coaches from the major leagues (The only ones I watch), so here goes :
S Rank:
- Igoorctg: There isn't much to say about Igor's achievements, he made a team completely discredited and sunk in the mud of the BR6 into the greatest power of the R6 in the year 2023, all the choices he made seemed to lead towards a bright future, mainly giving up Participate in SI 2022 to train your team and make them solid. It's like they say, little media and lots of quality
- StooFlex: Very solid in 2024, especially after the reconstruction of super BDS, he took over BDS at the end of 2022, had a reasonable performance in the Europa League and managed to win the major, even though he was the underdog in the final. In the year 2024 he did not win any blast trophy and unfortunately he was unable to overcome the allegations of Saudi traders. I don't know much about his help with the team's mentality at crucial moments, I feel like he seems to be a great tactical coach, but he doesn't have the capacity to be a mental coach for the team.
A Rank:
- Zheka: Opening the A rank with Zheka, present with the VP since Empire, the team's coach and analyst, he won the 2 European regional competitions with the team, always appearing in playoffs and deserving it. Unfortunately, he never managed to win a tier S championship with the team, appearing in third place in the last S.I, losing to Colosso W7M in a very competitive 3-map game. After that, he didn't seem very consistent in the Europa league, not adjusting much to the meta, and he only managed to adjust in the second stage of the Europa League in a game where the victory could have gone to both wolves and VP. With a weakened and discredited team in Montreal, they managed against all expectations that they would be grouped and made it to the playoffs, losing in the semi-finals to a completely new W7M. If I could name one problem that Zheka should solve in this VP team, it would be the team's persistence in the slow meta, which doesn't help them resolve themselves as a whole.
- RafadeLL: coach and analyst at Faze, experiencing an almost good Faze (Joke). After making magic in Mexico with Alem4o's TeamOnE, he played for some BR6 teams, not having much of an impact until he arrived at Faze, the team has always been a lion of BR6, but when they go to international championships, they always pass the stage with ease of groups or Switzerland, the problem is in the playoffs, they suffer problems in matches that are overwhelming favorites (against BC in Manchester or LOS Atlanta), they are a slow team like VP, but more reactive, I feel that they have a beautiful map pool, but it seems like an easy team to make against strategies. In short, chokeClan, in the last major they were Faze Clan in the Swiss phase and in the Playoffs they were M80, they didn't play what they were really capable of against BDS.
- Norris: He is already a relatively old coach on the BR scene, he went through the reformulation of Team One with Los in 2023, with results of ups and downs, especially in the middle of 2023 where he achieved second place in the Atlanta major against the powerful W7M, but after this fell early at SI 2024 against Team Bleed. Then the reformulation took place, going to W7M with the LOS core, with the addition of 2 new pieces, the good son returns home, Volpz leaves Liquid under a lot of drama and returns to W7M with a great promise of tier 2 BR , Dodez (who even has the record of 57 kills in an md3 in the rush series against Fluxo). This new team managed to continue the legacy of the 2023 Super W7M and win the Montreal major over BDS who had previously wiped the floor with their faces in the Arabian tournament (Saudi merchants).
- Fett: He was in charge of a completely discredited team that was made a punching bag by the entire NA, in addition to all the pieces having been dropped by previous teams in an NA powerhouse, the start started slowly in 2023, with a fourth place in the stage 1 of 2023 and then making everything worse in stage 2 of 2023 with a ninth place, but he didn't stop believing in the team and finally managed to win the NA league and won the manchester major with a team that no one would have thought would make it past the second phase, with big upsets, beat BDS in the end and won the major. He is a coach who was crucial for the lane update, it's no wonder that after his departure, BC didn't even manage to qualify for the next major. He is a coach that I give the benefit of the doubt, could he become someone greater if he continued at BC or was it just a momentary thing? we will never know.
- Twister: He participated in most of the traditional teams in BR6, except Liquid, he had great highlights in BD and Faze, unfortunately he never won anything relevant, but he always reached top 4, his worst performance was in a very dull Furia. He began to gain international prominence now with Team Secret, where he performed a miracle with the team, transforming the team from water to wine, failing to win anything in 2024, but always getting closer, including with 2 top 8 finishes in the majors (the 2 losing to BDS) in addition to a second place against the same BDS in stage 2 of the Europa League, in a match where it was possible to win, but there were a lot of stumbles in the third map, closing 8-7.
- Callout: He had his golden era at Astralis led by Iconic, taking first place in the 2 stages of the 2022 NA and losing the final 3-2 in Charlotte, in addition to an incredible run through Lower in the 2023 S.I and placing fourth. After that he went to SSG, where he dropped significantly in performance even in the NA league, usually reaching third place and always falling in the quarterfinals in the majors, even almost not making it to the playoffs. I don't think it's a specific problem for him, but for the team itself, the SSG team is simply a level below the major favorites, I even think that without it, SSG wouldn't even qualify for the majors.
Rank B:
- Lyloun: Opening tier B with Lyloun, the only woman on the list, Team Wolves had incredible results with her in 2022, including winning the 2 europa leagues, and for a team that entered the EUL in 2022, this was monumental, including going very well in the majors, achieving top 8 in the 2 majors of 2022, losing in Berlin to Xset, Jonkoping to BDS and in the SI of 2023 in 5/6 place for G2. Unfortunately, I think that was the limit of the lineup, after that, there was a big decline in the team, I don't think it was due to any lack of effort on their part, the EUL teams simply adapted better to the new map pool and there were a lot of lineup changes and upgrades in 2023 for the other teams. In my opinion, the biggest sin committed at Wolves was kicking Shiinka, who was one of the pillars of this team.
- Mint: Mint, or as I call him, "widow of the ecl9pse". After beating Charlotte over Astralis, and Ecl9pse leaving the team, this team was never the same, it was always an average team, a team that is based on mid-table even in the NAL, it managed to qualify for all the tournaments tier S from 2023 to just embarrass yourself. There was a huge improvement in the team after Beaulo joined the team, even reaching the top 2 in the NAL, but it seems like something is missing from this team, after all, just as Beaulo is not the same as he was at TSM, DZ is not the same same without Ecl9pse.
- Supr: Soniqs' poster boy, from player to coach, never won a tier S tournament, but he always looked like a good player, not incredible, but good. He took over SNQ in the second stage and won NAL over DZ, for the beginning of a coaching career, this is a very promising start, I don't know if he will be able to perform a miracle like Fett, but he can do a great job too . If SNQ has a problem itself, especially after being beaten 7-0 by Faze, the problem would not be Supr, but rather the team's parts, I don't see Canadian as a mechanically balanced player, he could be a great IGL , but this team lacks firepower.
- Ghost1: I don't have much to say about him, he's from the old school of BR6m, he played for the late Red Devils and is in a traditional Brazilian team that lives a lot in the past, he did a great job bringing kids from tier 2 along with the veteran Ask to the major, including defeating Furia. Unfortunately, this team lacks international experience, they could have even beaten G2 2-0 in the play-ins, but BD is a team that only knows how to defend and not attack. In fact, they almost passed the stage, finishing 2-3 in the Swiss stage, losing to SSG, it seems that when this team turns from defender to attacker, they forget how R6 plays.
Rank C
- Redeemer: Redeemer has been a coach at OGX for a long time, he has had many ups and downs, especially lows. His main achievements were the top 4 in Charlotte and the top 3 in SI 2023. I don't know whether to blame the 2024 team's OXG failure on him, for having a reasonably good team on paper and not being able to manage it, or in OXG itself, which drastically changed its parts at the beginning of the year and changed again after 6 months, it may not be his fault, maybe this team simply didn't fit together.
- Budega: Bubu is a coach that when you look at his achievements and look at the rank here you wonder, why is he here? Simple, he is simply wasted potential, he could be a great coach if he were more professional and didn't focus on trashtalk. Since the time of the late MIBR giving results, top 3 in SI 2021, after that he decided to venture into Xset and M80 with very interesting results, top 8 in charlotte, top 4 in Berlin and even top 2 in G8 2023. But Even with an incredible team on paper, the Brazilian trio, Iconic and Spoit, it seems that this team only declined in 2024, not being able to progress to the stage once. of groups whenever I managed to participate in international championships.
- Nelo: I don't have much to say about Nelo, he was a great player for MNM, I think he improved with Julio as coach for that team. He is currently coach of Wylde who, with his transfer from player to coach, seems to have improved the team from last place to sixth, with interesting upsets in the EUL, he could be a great coach in the near future.
- Tchubz: Coach of the Team one magic lineup, after winning in Mexico, he had some interesting and almost expressive results, top 8 in Sweden and Compenhagen, but with a decreasing lineup after 2023, mainly with some strange changes such as Muzi's departure from NIP, but the arrival of Fntzy could improve the NIP a lot, but this team still has a lot to do, it used to be part of the BIG3 of BR6, but now it is very much part of the mid-table.
- Ramalho: Ramalho is a very funny case within R6, both for the good and the bad, current G2 fans want to kill the poor guy, but he always had good results as a coach for Faze Clan, he was even a coach when Faze won the Swedish major. He made dubious parts changes at G2 recently, like Benja and Virtue's kicks. I don't think Loira and Blaz are a bad addition, but I don't think the team with Virtue and Benja would win either, this current G2 line isn't that bad on paper, I just don't think the pieces really fit together. I don't think Ramalho is a bad coach, I just don't think he's a good coach for G2, or even for an international team.
Rank D
- Hugzord: Finally, the cursed, Hugo, the Brazilian community came together to speak badly about this boy's work. I think only he is capable of taking on a team that, every time he changes parts, should improve the team, but only makes it worse. The man who kicked Volpz and after that he won the major, I think that if the Hugzord buys a dwarf, he grows up right away. He works with 2 of the most consistent players in the world and still can't win anything, clearly the problem is him and Lagonis, but only Liquid doesn't realize it. This cursed being manages to lose matches where TL is incredibly favorite, 2 famous cases being in the Jonkoping final and in Manchester against BC. I think that as long as TL is under this man's power, they won't gain anything.
Final considerations: Everything said here is just my opinion, please do not take this as absolute truth and sorry if there are any errors in English.
