Pacman Sideways?

My wifes R36S just arrived and one of the things she noticed is that when she opened Pacman, it wasn't playable because the game loaded sideways, so she had to turn the device in landscape mode but the buttons themselves didn't work as the landscape orientation. Is there any way to fix this, or is that just the way some of the games work out?
