Unsafe Areas to Avoid When Moving to (West) Lafayette?

I'm moving to (West) Lafayette as I will be attending Purdue University soon. I'm searching a house for rent. Is there any part of (West) Lafayette so dangerous that people shouldn't live? Any advice is welcome. Thanks!
