Did Marlene really think we really were supposed to believe Ian didn’t sleep with Alison?

I hate even getting on topics like this with underage characters and grown men…🤢but I’m rewatching the show and I’m on season 4 when Alison gives the full story of what happened before she disappeared. In the Ian flashback at the kissing rock he says “we’ve never slept together “when she threatens to expose him as a predator but in the flashbacks in earlier seasons it is revealed he took her to hilton head for an entire summer..

You mean to tell me they shared a room and bed…..yet nothing happened according to Marlene? I refuse to believe a predator had morals

I feel like in their grooming storylines they downplay what happened and make it seem not as bad…and it’s gross
