**Addressing Recent Events**
Hey everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to clear the air and be upfront about a situation that’s been circulating. I’ve always believed in transparency, respect, and fostering a space where we build each other up rather than tear each other down. Anyone who knows me or has been part of this community knows that bullying, slandering, or disrespecting others isn’t tolerated here. I’m all about encouraging growth, both in mycology and in each other.
Recently, Doc Blue Thumb was removed as a moderator. This decision wasn’t made lightly. After undeniable evidence came to light, it became clear that he was engaging in dishonest behavior — including taking advantage of members, extending other vendors' genetics, and attempting to pass them off as his own. Not only did he deceive people, but he also undermined the integrity of the community we’ve all worked hard to build.
When it came time to address his role as a moderator, the decision went to a vote. It was unanimous. Every single mod agreed that he could no longer be part of the leadership of this space. I have screenshots from our group chat that reflect this decision, and I stand by it.
Furthermore, part of what makes this community strong is leading by example. Our mods are expected to post three updates a week showcasing their mycology work — whether that’s plate work, grows, or techniques. This keeps us connected to the community and shows that we practice what we preach. Over the past few months, it became increasingly clear that Doc wasn’t holding up his end. His lack of activity and questionable actions made it impossible to justify his role any longer.
I didn’t make a big public statement when he was removed because I believed it was best to move forward without unnecessary drama. However, if he chooses to spread false claims about why he’s no longer a mod, I’m more than prepared to back up the truth with evidence.
This community is about learning, growing, and supporting each other. I’ll continue to do everything I can to ensure it remains a judgment-free zone where we can share our successes and failures alike. We all have different approaches to growing, and by being open about our experiences — both good and bad — we make this space stronger.
Thank you for being part of what makes this community so great. Let’s keep pushing each other to grow — in all senses of the word.
Much love and happy growing,
Platy
