Why Do Filipinos think its all sunshine and rainbows working in abroad?
Di naman sa minamaliit ko ang mga OFW, saludo ako sakanila dahil sila ang nakikipagsapalaran sa bansang most of the time wala silang mga relatives, friends, and people to depend on incase bad something happens.
My issue is people in the philippines talking about going abroad like its so easy to live and work abroad? Daling sabihin pero hirap gawin. Kitang kita naman sa soc med ang risks nang pag aabroad yet are they not fazed by the reality of what OFWs go through when they go abroad?
May mga taong talagang makakatikim nang success sa abroad dahil sa field nila like medical, engineering, etc. pero napaka liit nang mga taong iyon. Most of the time mga nakukuhang work is domestic helper, katulong, factory worker. Which again di ko minamaliit pero the stress and risks that they go through are most of the time not recognized by people here in the country.
I hate it when people brazenly talk about working abroad when they have no idea what it takes to work abroad. Most of the time the only thing that they thing is how much they can earn when they convert it to our currency and never even think about the cost of living in a particular country.
Again the risks that people go through like being treated less than a human because you are not a native, sexual assaults and harrassments (men can get sexually violated in the middle east by middle eastern men, yes that is real. Mabalbon kasi mga middle eastern women and male filipinos generally have less hair), not getting help or getting very little help from authorities, etc.
It honestly feels like a slap in the face to those OFWs who go through the risks of working abroad when people here brazenly talk about working abroad and not even think what its like working abroad.
