Best affordable restaurant and bar in downtown?

I recently went to Bar Vita recently and I thought the the more expensive restaurants in town must be better but that was not the case. I haven’t really like kettle drums either, Jim’s pasta and pizza has also fallen below expectations. I did really like St. Veronus but they are super expensive. Any recommendations?
