GPU suggestions

So I'm in the process of the building my new system after 8 years. She's finally starting to drag ass, so new build. Not in a huge rush so I'm buying parts as they go on sale.

The question is:

Should I wait for a 5k series gpu to because reasonably priced or should I get a radeon for now and upgrade later?
