Joe Milton

Would I trade him for a 4th or a 5th? No, definitely not.

I understand his start came against the Bills who were intentionally trying to lose, but I still think he played great and showed he can be an amazing back up QB.

If possible, I’d hope we keep him on the roster to be Maye’s long term back up.

However, would I trade Milton for a 3rd? Yes, I think I would. I think Milton is going to be in this league for a very long time but I don’t think he’ll be an elite QB… like in that top 7 range.

I see Milton as a guy who is the perfect back up, who will come in if your star QB gets hurt and needs to miss a month and you throw Milton out there to go 2-2 or 3-1. I think Milton could absolutely spot start/bridge gap for a few seasons but wouldn’t build around franchise around him.

So, do I hope we keep Milton? Yes. Would I move him for a 4th and/or 5th round pick(s)? Nah. If we’re offered a pick in the middle of the 3rd round… yes, I think I would and then I’d spend a 5th rounder on Will Howard, Tyler Shough or Kurtis Rourke.
