DO SPELLS SOCKETED IN, "CAST ON" META GEMS SCALE WITH INCREASED SPELL DAMAGE?

Im playing a cold invoker monk with Cast On Freeze Comet (I know this was nerfed but I stil find it fun). I want to increase the damage of my comet so what should I invest in most? Does increased spell damage scale with my socketed spell? Ive seen other nodes on the tree like,"socketed spells increased damage"..does that mean I only have to look for nodes that say triggered spells?
