Should I wait? Trans woman here.
I know there’s a court case in a couple weeks, so I probably will, but wanted to see what people tend to think about my situation:
I’ve never had a passport before.
Never had a court ordered gender change, I simply applied for a birth certificate change in the state of Michigan, and received one. Luckily MI is amazing and seals all BCs, so this is by all accounts an original. Does not say Amended anywhere.
When I changed my DL in Texas, all I did was submit the Birth Certificate, and same for SSN. On the paperwork I just said it was an error I never got fixed.
I did do a name change, but it was mainly for my middle name, which was more masculine. My first name was Ryan, simply changed to Ryann.
Should I just hold off? The way I did it seems pretty air tight (saw this on the horizon two years ago) but just never got around to the passport.
EDIT: traveling in July
