Passed on my 2nd attempt. Heres my experience! You got this! (this is super long sorry!)

Now that I actually studied for and passed my NCLEX-RN, I realize how wrong I approached my first attempt lol.

My first attempt I seriously barely studied for two weeks, did UWorld, didnt feel ready, but still look my nclex. I took it two months after I graduated. Its seriously not a surprise that I didnt pass the first time. I hate studying. I did well in nursing school without having to study like there was no tomorrow. I felt like I was guessing the whole exam lol. I thought that Uworld would just suffice, I was getting pretty decent scores and didnt take anything seriously. Still! I never failed an exam during nursing school so that was still a blow to my confidence.

I didnt tell anyone but my boyfriend and my boss bc i had to request days off lol.

I currently work so after not passing my first attempt I just focused on working and didnt really go back to studying. I rescheduled my exam like 10 times no joke bc I never felt motivated to actually study. Fast forward 5(?)months after my 1st attempt which brings me to december.. I knew I had to take this exam again and HAD to become an RN before the new year… so I did that.

I studied for around 2 and a half weeks. I used Mark K, Archer Review, and Beautiful Nursing Nclex Review. I would use Registered Nurse RN youtube vids just to slightly brush up on a few diseases I needed a refresher on and thats it (which was so randomly helpful bc I got questions on the most random diseases I brushed up on lol) Some nights I actually wouldnt study leading up to my exam which is kinda crazy but I work 9-5 Mon-Fri so sometimes I was just tired lol. I used two weekends to study the whole day to try and make up for my lack of studying during the whole week and it made so much of a difference. I felt so much more confident with Mark K and Beautiful Nursing. I would speed the video up by like 1.7x and take notes during Mark K. I watched the Beautiful Nursing Review twice, once to take notes, and once to just listen and go along with my notes.

Idk why I just prefer Archer over Uworld. I did think it was a lot similar to the nclex compared to uworld. Some people dont like the rationales but they were fine for me, and sometimes i would just google for a bit more info if I needed to. I used only 43% of the QBank. My scores were low at first and the first two readiness assessments I took told me low chance of passing. As I studied more I would do around 10/15 questions at a time and score anywhere from 50%-80%. I made myself write down and read the rationales this time around. The day before my nclex I got high chance + very high chance of passing which I was honestly surprised about but it definitely boosted up whatever confidence I had.

I tried out alphaslicenursing but didnt really like it, kind of felt like a waste of money :/

My second attempt I actually told some of my family that I would atleast take it sometime “soon” in December. I think that pressure encouraged me to actually study so I had no choice.

Took my exam 12/30/22. During my exam I felt like I actually knew the material they were asking me about. I got all 145 questions and around 55 SATA. Didnt want to do the PVT after being traumatized the first attempt. I napped the whole day after my exam and woke up and said F it! I checked and got the good pop up! The next day on New Years Eve I wanted to just get some type of confirmation of passing so I checked my application status on the BRN website and it said pass later in the afternoon! Still doubted that so today -48 hours after I started my exam- I bought the quick results and it said pass!

Shoutout to this reddit community and for everyones input with their own experiences that definitely helped me on this journey! Cheers to 2023 as an RN!
