Trail exit route from Kennedy Meadows North

I am thinking of taking some time off the trail after reaching 1000 miles. However, getting out of KMN and into a city with an airport seems really hard from this place. A hitch to Bridgeport seems hard and long (and then bus to Reno) and right now seems the only way out. Anyone know a better way?
