my psp E1000 street doesnt charge

hi everyone, i hope everyone is doing good.
i had this issue with my psp E1000 for a long time. basically, i often leave my psp untouched for months due to school etc... so the batterie is completely dead, however when i want to charge it, and if im lucky, the red lamp turns on, however if i move the charger or the psp slightly the light turns off immediately, and if i shake the charger or the psp hoping to get the power back it just doesnt charge at all. and i have to leave it for some time to try again and hopefully make it work. this problem happens only when i charge the psp for the first time in months, however if im successful and charge it the first time, when ever i want to replug it it recharges easily, whether it was off, on, with a completely empty battery etc... i dont know if the psp is the issue or if its the adapter i use. this issue as i said happens only and only when i want to charge it for the first time in months. i hope you find a solution, and thank you to anyone investing their time into helping me.
EDIT: the problem is now fixed, my adapter was a bit old, i bought a new one and everything now works correctly.
