I felt sorry with It Ends With Us
I’ve finally watched It Ends With Us movie and I read the book before. I really felt bad lang na this movie and the book has a lot of bad reviews/comments. I get the reason why some hates the author but do we really need to hate the artwork?
Personally, I love the book more than the movie. Sobrang depressing and ang sad niya kasi ramdam mo talaga yung pain ni Lily, and CoHo really did make me feel like I was the one who fell in love with Ryle. For me maganda yung execution ng emotions through the words. I felt empty at the end of the book kasi none of them wanted what happened to them. I understood everyone’s feeling, especially Lily and Ryle’s.
I was one of the people na jinajudge ko before ang mga taong ayaw kumawala sa toxic relationship. Not until I read IEWU. Something about CoHo’s writing style made me feel like I’m the MC. Tbh if I’m the MC, I won’t leave Ryle. I dunno but I really felt sorry for him. But then again, it’s not an excuse for what he had done to Lily.
After watching the movie, it’s still sad especially the ending pero mas depressing siya sa book (well, the movie always has nothing compare to the book). I just wish I can describe in words how heartbreaking the story is, but words aren’t enough to explain how empty I felt.
Yon, skl. I love IEWU kasi and a lot of people hates it for some reason. My heart breaks for it, I think it needs more recognition than it deserves. IMO, it’s a good book to understand what it feels like to be in a toxic relationship and the reason why some of us can’t leave.
P.S. I know a lot will attack me here since it’s about CoHo, but please, I am asking for respect 🥹
